Rating System

What is the GengMantap rating system?

GengMantap uses an all-positive rating system inspired by Elo, the same system used in chess and other sports worldwide. Every team starts with a rating of 1500. Your rating always goes up when you play a match — winning gives you a bigger increase, while losing still gives you a small participation reward.

What is the starting rating for new teams?

Every new team starts with a rating of 1500. This is a neutral rating that allows the system to calculate the team's true strength after a few matches.

Why did my rating change a lot/a little?

Winners get a large increase (+8 to +40), losers get a small participation reward (+2 to +5). The amount depends on: (1) Rating difference - beating a stronger team = bigger bonus, (2) Goal margin - winning by more = more points, (3) Match type - competitive gives more than friendly, (4) How competitive the loss was - close losses get more than blowouts.

Can my rating go down from playing a match?

No. Every confirmed match gives you positive rating — even if you lose. Your rating can only decrease through inactivity decay (not playing for a long time) or admin adjustments for violations.

What is K-Factor?

K-Factor controls how much the win bonus can change per match. New teams (0-9 matches) have K=30 for faster rating discovery. Experienced teams (30+ matches) have K=20 for more stable ratings. The maximum total rating change is +40 per match.

Match Logging

How do I log a match?

Go to the 'Log Match' menu, select the opponent team, enter the score, date, and venue. After submitting, the system will send a confirmation request to the opponent team.

Can I log past matches?

Yes, you can log matches that have already been played. However, the match must be within the last 7 days. Matches older than that cannot be logged to prevent manipulation.

What happens after I log a match?

After you log a match, the system will send a WhatsApp notification to both you and the opponent team. The opponent has 48 hours to confirm. If there's no response after 48 hours, the match will be auto-confirmed.

Can I edit a match after logging?

No, you cannot edit after submitting. However, the opponent team can adjust the score (0-20) before confirming. If there's a serious issue, contact an admin for review.

Why do I have to wait for confirmation?

This double-confirmation system ensures that match results are valid and agreed upon by both teams. This prevents manipulation and ensures the integrity of the rating system.

Match Confirmation

How long do I have to confirm a match?

The opponent team has 48 hours to confirm a match. After 48 hours, if there's no response, the match will be auto-confirmed and ratings will be updated.

What if I disagree with the score?

When confirming a match, you can adjust the score before confirming. Use the edit score button to change goals (0-20) and then confirm with the updated score. If there's a serious issue, contact an admin for review.

Can I cancel confirmation after confirming?

No, you cannot. After confirmation, the match is final and ratings have been updated. If there's a serious issue, contact an admin for review.

I didn't receive a confirmation email?

Make sure your email is correct in your profile. Check your spam/junk folder. You can also check pending confirmations in your team dashboard.

Teams

How do I register a team?

Click 'Create Team' in the dashboard. Enter the team name, select a division, area, and upload a logo (optional). Each user can create and manage multiple teams.

Can I change my team name?

Yes, go to Team Settings to edit the name, logo, and other information. However, name changes will be recorded for transparency.

What's the difference between divisions (Open, Semi Veteran, Veteran)?

Divisions are age/experience categories: Open (all ages), Semi Veteran (35+), Veteran (40+), Under 18 (under 18 years old). Ratings are calculated separately for each division.

Can one team play in multiple divisions?

No. Each team must choose only one division. If you want to play in a different division, you need to create a new team.
